After busting low life criminals, one of the Caped Crusaders favorites pastimes is helping to mold the youth of tomorrow. Today B & R went to All Saints Episcopal Day School to spread their message of service to others. How did the kids respond? Why they raised $86 to help sick kids feel better. Holy generosity, their folks must be raising them right!

This being Christmas, however, I guess we’ll give the poor guy (be it Joker or be it a fellow law enforcement officer) a break. We in the Bat Cave are big supporters of our first responder community and upon reflection maybe we part with a buck or two for the ticket.

dedicate this entry to Sgt. Michael Marzano who lost his life in Iraq fighting for the freedoms we in the Bat Cave hold dear. His Mom and Aunt now spend their
time and energy running Operation Homefront’s Arizona chapter, which strives to help our fighting families that are most in need. Clearly serving others runs in the family. We tip our cowls to Sgt. Marzano and his loved ones.

$December 16, 2009 OK kids, time for a civics lesson. Some cop, who has clearly over stepped his bounds, decided to write up the Batmobile. No joke. Man, is this guy in for a world of hurt. He must have decided to become a cop without having bothered to go to cop school. Not only are we authorized to have red emergency lights on the vehicle (that was our infraction), but we outrank the guy. We should be giving him a ticket for impeding the work of a law enforcement superior. I suppose we could fight the ticket, perhaps even all the way to the Supreme Court, but we’ve got a better idea. Little does our donut eating friend realize, but we have a very special relationship with Police Chief O’Hara. Every St. Patrick’s Day, we send the Chief a fifth of fine Irish Whiskey. Translation: one call down to City Hall and this guy won’t be able to get a job as a meter maid in Tijuana. There is another possible explanation. Perhaps Joker was impersonating a police officer. Either way, it is a very dark day in Gotham!$

It is with a very, very heavy heart that we must report the passing of our pal Colton. Before Christmas arrived, the Batmobile had the privilege of delivering Santa to Colton’s home where he celebrated the holiday with the entire family. Before we split back for the North Pole, Colton and his Dad took the Batmobile for a spin.

Colton and his entire family are in our prayers. We leave you tonight with the sights and sounds of Colton’s Christmas.

Hey, check out the nice new do-dads we got for the study here in Stately Wayne Manor. Normally, Batman does not wear his cowl in the study, but we needed to protect his identity. Besides, Aunt Harriet was taking a nap.

Happy Valentines Day! One of our more frequently asked questions has to be, “Just where is the Batcave?” Well that of course is a secret, but in deference to the holiday of love, we will at least give you a clue. We are 14 miles outside of downtown Gotham. Which way is something you gotta figure out.
